Periodt.

UX/UI

Created in collaboration with Penelope Clark, Kiva LeFors, and Zoe Buckendahl.

Periodt. is a menstrual cycle tracking app that prioritizes mental health awareness. It provides a secure space for individuals to deepen their understanding of their bodies, monitor both mental and physical symptoms, gather pattern data, and ask any questions they may be hesitant to voice. Periodt. aims to destigmatize conversations surrounding bodily changes and serve as an educational tool for those who want to learn!

//Data about mental and reproductive health. Collected from Intamina and kkf.

One third of U.S. women use period tracking apps.

57% of women admitted they don’t know about their bodies’ anatomy.

1 in 10 were unable to correctly identify a diagram of a woman’s reproductive system.

Journaling can reduce the frequency of intrusive, negative thoughts, and reduce overall levels of depression in those diagnosed with a Major Depressive Disorder.

4 out of 10 Americans can’t access mental health resources when they need it.

//Information Architecture

We were eager to make this app as well-rounded as possible. Although our ideas were ambitious, it was important for us to make the information we wanted to include available and digestible. We created five different main pages to organize the content: On boarding, Home, Journal, Calendar, Analysis, and Encyclopedia.
